Murder in Christmas River by Meg Muldoon that we're wrapping up today.

How do you feel about this final third of our second cozy mystery we've covered on the book?

Well, I think I proved my cozy bona fides to you earlier with a photo of my cozy place.

I'm very cozy.

I'm sad that when we do this podcast, I can't be down at the Pine Needle Tavern drinking myself into a stupor. Oh, man. Maybe having too many

eggnogs. Who the hell drinks too many eggnongs, by the way? Sounds like a fear factor challenge.

Yes. Anyway, yeah, this was exactly what I expected, which is to say I liked it.

I mean, we'll get to the end of this, but I enjoyed my time.

Yeah, almost exactly.

I assumed that a lot of these books are going to be, you know, almost exactly like you'd expect.

You know, they hit the beats.

But what they fill in in between those beats is sort of where they separate themselves. And yeah, the drunkenness of the pine needle tavern and the dogs

scarfing down pies that are either going to kill them or cause massive GI issues is, you know,

those are the delightful things this series brought to us, as well as some crazy similes in this section,

some bitter rivalries, and some stuff we'll get to. But I think that the cozy mystery genre is,

maybe it's already been shaken up, but we don't know it. It's going to be something that we

realize later, but we discussed this this week, the advent of, of massive and rapid advances in AI technology,

I feel like is going to, is going to provide either the death knell or just radical new advances

...
