The Bible calls it the root of all evil. The Bible actually says

that this is capable of choking God's word. How crazy is that? Choking the power of God's work and word

in your life according to Mark chapter 4 verse 19. And that's what we're going to talk about today.

Concerning this issue, we must understand this that the passion for the presence of God

is found in our pursuit after God. And this pursuit after God creates purity in our life. God's purity

as a result of us pursuing Him affects every area of our life. When it comes to the issue of

materialism, love of money, greed, desire for greater possessions, obsession with the things

that culture values as good, the world sees it as the ultimate goal in life is to be rich,

to be wealthy, to have as much money as you can, to live as comfortable as you can,

and to be as deeply rooted into this earth, into this life as you possibly can.

In the scripture, we see something that actually goes contrary to the culture.
