gritty and masculine but we're happy to have in the room my friend and the author of

a new book the Immoral Majority Ben Howe, Ben, welcome aboard, welcome. This is your first time on right?

Good day Jonah, no no no fake accent.

Yes, this is not my first time here actually, I filmed you.

Right but the first time on this podcast. I know all about the other stuff that we do in the

Gaticomes and all that kind of stuff. So for listeners who can't tell I'm still

fighting this crazy summer cold thing and had a fairly emotional day yesterday

yesterday which I can tell you about later but let's just dive right into it.

You wrote a book called The Immoral Majority. There's this fantastic blur from this

guy Jonah Goldberg on the back of it. What's it about? Well you know for me the story kind of starts

in 2011. You remember Donald Trump coming to CPAC and everybody was kind of treating it like a joke.

He ran for, well he toyed with running for president for a little bit,

Barack Obama kind of embarrassed him with the birth certificate. He dropped out.

It was a big joke and beyond Romney asking for his endorsement it seemed like that was it.

Yes, it settled now that's done. And when he came down the escalator in 2015

I think I just kind of expected the same response.

Well obviously didn't go that way and people got very excited about him.

And at first I would say most of my objections were really kind of Republican focused.
