Summary

Cole Giannone uses they/them pronouns, and identifies as a combination of queer, trans non-binary, and transmasc. However, back when they were in high school (and well before all of these terms were commonplace), Cole was Nicole's first girlfriend! Cole and Nicole look back on their relationship, and examine how it was affected by elements of their identities that neither of them could put a name to at the time. Plus, the complexities of raising a child when it comes to gender - both theirs AND yours!

0:06.3	I just wanted to give a tiny clarification up front. This human who we have on, who's very
0:13.9	special to me, this episode uses different pronouns now than when they first came into my life and you will hear me use
0:24.4	their they and them pronouns the entire episode as a result. However, I once use she, her in it
0:32.4	and it is only because I am recalling what I was thinking when I was looking at them in that moment 20 years ago.
0:42.5	And I was definitely identifying them as she-her at that point and they were identifying as she-her.
0:49.2	So it is okay by our guest that I referred to them as she her in the memory of this when I was
0:59.4	recalling it, but I just wanted to do that because I knew what might prickle a few ears.
