a person who travels more than I do. I get some time with Stephen Hyde, our two-time U.S.

National Cyclocross Champion. Stephen is a fascinating character in the sport.

He is a lot of fun to catch up with to keep track of on his globe-trotting adventures.

Geez, I feel like it's been ages.

I suppose we're only one week post tour to France, one week

since our last party. It's August here in the northeast. It's been a scorching summer with humidity

pinging right up alongside the temperature in the upper double digits, threatening triple digits

now and again. Now, Laura and I have made the concerted effort to be staying closer to

home with this move east, rather than bouncing all over the country, as is typically the case.

So lots of northeastern events in our recent rearview mirror and coming right up on the horizon.

For example, Vermont 3 is a three-day mountain bike race that takes a page out of the big ones all across North America, like Breck Epic or BC bike race.

That's coming up this weekend.

The Cannondale North American sales meeting, that is always a hoot that's taken place just down the road next week.

D2R2, not R2D2, is around the corner in central Massachusetts.

That is a big old gravel ride that already lives in national gravel lore with the original

gravel crusaders out and about tearing it up.

We're looking forward to that one.
