I guess someone was bound to try it at some point. No one ever said mosaics had to be flesh and blood

after all. Still, we're supposed to be human, sort of. I'm not sure today's experiment met that requirement.

Even so, I'm glad they got away. Good for them.

This is Spines. I'm. I'm. Shan and I were out chasing a lead when we got a call from Miranda about some mosaics.

Get back to the borough, she said.

Winry found something.

I could hear her irritation through the phone.

Then she hung up.

Winry was practically levititating when we got there.

She was so worked up.

So take a look, she said, waving at her monitors.

Then she started spouting something about social media algorithms and coding and some other nonsense.

I lost her after a sentence or two.

Finally, Shan laid a hand on her arm, and that touch cut her off mid-sentence.

Winry, Shan said, I'm half vegetation. Computers make me uneasy under the best of circumstances.
