| 0:45.0 | So my whole team lives together in this big dorm. And did you start this organization? |
| 0:49.5 | Yeah. And how did you get into this work? How did I start? Well, I started |
| 0:58.2 | it when I was a law student. So I went to law school because I wanted to be a lawyer |
| 1:03.0 | to help, particularly to help poor women who are being exploited because before, well, I |
| 1:09.3 | grew up in a lot of different countries and saw a lot of poverty and a lot of, you know, |
| 1:12.6 | just terrible things but especially before law school, I was working with some groups |
| 1:17.2 | and volunteering with groups that were helping get girls out of brothels. And so once, |
| 1:22.4 | one of the reasons I went to law school was to be involved in that work. Well, was your |
| 1:26.6 | parents work that you're moving all over the place? Yeah. My dad was a teacher and a |
| 1:30.6 | principal of international schools. And what countries did you live in? Dominican Republic, |
| 1:35.9 | Yemen, Syria, Norway. Norway, Syria, Yemen, Dominican Republic. So I got the whole, you got |
| 1:43.3 | the spectrum of culture, religion. And did you, so it's like high school, junior high, all that? |
| 1:48.1 | Yeah, mostly growing up. I was high school in the US a couple years and I graduated in Norway. |
| 1:53.4 | But my, yeah, grade school and junior high was in the Middle East. Did you, in Yemen and Syria? |
