We thank you for the leadership here in this church Lord what a blessing and a privilege it is to be here to be able to sit

under this teaching we thank you that this church Lord teaches the word of God Lord your word your word is life Lord so speak to us

Lord as we get into our study this morning in the book of first John Lord we thank you

so much for this time together in your word in Jesus name we pray this name

amen amen good morning and welcome you be seated. I want to welcome

those of you that are joining us online as well. We're so very glad that you are. Before we get started,

though, I want to provide you with a brief update on our ongoing Maui missions support, which for today is going to actually

be more of a plea of sorts. And by that I mean first and foremost, it's a plea to please continue

to pray for the people of Lahaina as what's happened on Maui

is seemingly fading into the backdrop of obscurity seemingly with each passing day as it always does. But what's really sad is that there are those on

Maui that are still really suffering and in some ways it's even worse now than it

was right after it happened and the reason it is is because the reality and the intensity of what happened is

beginning to now settle in. It's been over two months and you know right after something

like that happens there's a shock there's a denial kind of a stage that you go through it's

so surreal and then as time goes on it just

begins to sink in. You start realizing wow, did this really just happen? And you're reminded of

that every day that you wake up in that situation, which is what they do.
