Hello, it is I, faithful patriot scholar and most of the time heathen, Natalie Jean, co-host of

someplace underneath. This is a pre-intro, intro, to any of you who may be current or former

members of the LDS Church. Hello, some of what we'll be talking about may be very upsetting.

It may even make you angry.

And while my co-host and I are not journalists, but commentators, and do insert our feelings

and emotions into these episodes, we've done a lot of work to verify the claims we're examining. We've checked and rechecked sources and have spoken to a number of experts, ex and current members, religious scholars and mental health professionals, to bring you the most accurate information we possibly can. I take zero pleasure in reporting on credible claims of violence,

sexual battery, silencing of victims in financial abuse. I am also angry if this makes you feel that

way. I think you deserve better than that. And after all that members give to their church

financially, emotionally and spiritually, I do believe that they owe you the truth. We will be

spending the first few episodes going over a fast history of the church. And you know, I'm not

that good at the history of it. So if you find flaws in it, please feel free to reach out and let us

know. But we will be spending these first few episodes going over the foundation of the church,

not only to lay the foundation, but to provide context for stories we will be

sharing later on. Please be advised that some of these accounts are deeply unsettling,

but what we don't bring to the light will fester, and eventually that decay will begin to

permeate. We don't hate you, not at all. We care about you and want to keep

everyone as safe as possible. Thank you for listening and here we go. Some place underneath. So I always thought I sounded pretty woo-woo and like out of touch when, so example, I met this guy at a bar and I said oh you're a Leo tomorrow

you should go it's Leo season she goes stretch in the sun because you're ruled by the sun and I was

like sure sure I think that it's perfectly acceptable to suggest sun stretching right I think it's

pretty harmless right exactly and then Farby'd say, like,

new age stuff can get extremely harmful as well. Yeah. Just any, any idea pushed to like the

fourth level, right? Like, you could have kind of a silly thought. Superstitions are like that, right?
