And the Hello and welcome to Soda Jaker on songwriting episode 125. Joining us today is an American singer-songwriter,

guitarist and folk rock pioneer. He was a founding member of two of the best-loved American

bands of all time and is a member of the

song greatest Hall of Fame a two-time inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of

of Fame and a Grammy winner. Across an almost six decade career he's

collaborated with the likes of Joni Mitchell, David Gilmour, Phil Collins, James Taylor, Elton John and

Carol King and his work with his two best-known groups has sold over 35 million albums to date.

We are honored to welcome the great David Crosby to the show.

David has been remarkably prolific of late and recently released his fourth solo album in just five years,

entitled Here, if you listen, it's a collaboration with the

extremely talented Becca Stevens, Michelle Willis and snarky puppies Michael League

aka The Lighthouse Band and it's a thing of rare beauty. That's right David's arguably done

some of his very best work in the last few years and in our humble opinion he's

singing better than ever. We had the pleasure of meeting with Mr Crosby backstage

at the Palace Theatre in Manchester while he was

over here for a few shows in mid-September and it was a real honour to get to spend some time with him.

You almost had to fly solo too didn't you?

I absolutely did. I got stuck in terrible traffic for an hour driving

into Manchester and genuinely thought I was screwed and I wasn't going to make it. But Croz and his

tour manager were very cool about it and I did eventually arrive

albeit 30 minutes late and somewhat frazzled. Slapped you around a little bit and it

was fine. Just never show me up like that again. Do you understand me?
