Good morning and welcome to another edition of Best On Tour this week.

I'm your host Matt Pangrack along with Dave Rush,

where we talk about what happened in the world of professional bass fishing,

both on the water and in the industry.

And Dave, we had a low-weight barn burner at the Sabine River this past week in the Elite

series.

We sure did, Matt.

Pat Schlapper getting the job done on the Sabine River, as you call it, in Orange, Texas, one of the most popular venues

for the Bassmaster Elite Series to visit. It is the Sabine the first several times that they went there,

set attendance records. They did not set weight records for the most weight, however, patch

lap, or four day total. That is four days of fishing,

38 pounds, 12 ounces, almost a two pound margin of victory. He got the job done on a variety

of old school baits, including a Brazzalo clacking buzzbait a three eighth ounce homemade finesse

jig, a drop shot, and a Texas rig. Dave Schlapper, one of those guys who came up through

the Bass Nation, a really cool story to get his first elite series win. Absolutely, man. Schlapper

grassroots guy, double elite series qualifier, takes home his first elite series title. He joins the likes of Brandon Pollanick, Mike Hicke and Nellie, Will Davis, to name a few guys,

who are Bass Nation national champions and also now Elite Series champions.

Schlopper getting it done, man.

Pretty cool to see it unfold.

One of the only times I can recall in recent memory where an angler saved an area for the final day and it ended up working out.
