I've been on a Vietnam kick lately. It all started when the 4th of July was on the horizon. See, I was looking for something

American, and Ken Burns is one of my all-time heroes. His documentaries always fill me with pride in America

and what it means to be American. They don't shy away from the stains that are

there, but they always focus on the better angels of our nature.

In this case, I watched his series on the Vietnam War. That one's a little tough.

It's very good, but those firsthand accounts of soldiers who were in the thick of some of the worst fighting,

it can be difficult. But that put me on a Vietnam kick. I went on to watch

Apocalypse Now which I love and platoon. I had never seen platoon before. It was good, but some of the drama, especially after something
