Last week we saw the city of Carcasson fall to the Crusaders and saw Simon de Monfort elected

is the rather grand sounding Count of Leicester, Lord of Monfor and Viscount of Bezier and Carcasson.

It all sounds very impressive, but as far as southern France is concerned, what exactly is Simon de Monfor, Count of
