Thanks for joining. In today's Devo, Margie points out that in this chapter, we observe three different people's responses to Jesus.

She wrote, these three encounters with Jesus in Mark 7 are really pointing to what we truly believe about God,

His Word, and His Eternal Purposes. As we see here, there is a huge gap between honoring God

with our lips and worshiping Him with our hearts. In Mark 7, 1 through 13, the religious leaders encounter

Jesus, but they do not come testing the scriptures to verify if he is their promised Messiah,

nor to learn from him. They certainly do not come to worship him. Self-righteousness only seeks

to express how others measure up to you. It robs the heart of the desire to love Jesus.

Worship is an attitude of the heart that pours out what you truly believe. The heart attitude of

this group comes with reasons not to worship Jesus, and he responds, these people honor me with their

lips, but their heart is far from me. In vain do they worship me? And I really believe

Margie pointed out something important. Worship is our response to God for who he is and what he's done.

But worship doesn't start or end with our speech, really. Worship is less about our words and more about our

hearts. You see, worship is a heart posture. It's our

response to God for who he is and what he's done. So what are you worshipping? At the end of the year,

Spotify does this thing called Spotify Rapped. And it's basically a genius marketing plan because it gets

everyone to post about their music streaming platform. But what Spotify

RAPT does is evaluate everything you've personally listened to all year long. How many

minutes did you listen to music? Which artists or bands did you listen to the most? And honestly,

those reports tell you a lot about a person and what they value. Some people only listen to music for a few thousand

minutes, whereas others listened for hundreds of thousands of minutes. Some people only listen to
