Hello, everybody. We've got a special episode of the Cripes cast for you today.

We are coming to you alive from Washington, DC. That's right.

Believe it or not, the White House, the fine folks over at the White House reached out

because they have a bipartisan conference going on this week.

It's the White House conference on hunger, nutrition and health.

This is the first time this conference has been held in 50 years.

In fact, the first one was back in 1969.

Now, this event is intended to bring people from the private and public sectors together.

I think farmers think grocery store owners think,

you know, just people doing nonprofit work, bring them all together to kind of,

you know, hear talks and get into small groups to figure out how do we solve the problem of hunger

and how do we do it in a way that's good for people's nutrition and also good for the environment.

And we have the honor of talking with a bunch of different folks from this conference.

We're sort of camped out here in a room off to this side.

And we've got a bunch of interesting folks for you to listen to today.

So we are sort of set up in a little room off to the side here, which is nice.

And we're going to talk to a few of these people.

So like a few of these people, a bunch of them are from the Midwest.
