Well, hello from California. I'm here at my new house. We just got here. There is no

furniture, there is no internet, so in a very primitive state and as I just settle into a new home,

I wanted to share with you a sermon I gave on my last day in Tallahassee last week before driving all the way across the country.

I talk a little bit about what I think the church is at its best. Now I'll warn you,

it is preachy. It's a sermon. It's not a talk, but I still thought it was something that might interest all of you.

So hopefully I'll be back next week with a normal episode, maybe, although I may just take a week off

as I'm not entirely sure there will be anything to record with in my house

a week from now. But we'll see anyway. Here is the sermon I gave at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church in Tallahassee, Florida on my last day in Tallahassee.

The reading today comes from the book of Romans chapter 8 verse 12 to 25.

So then brothers and sisters we are deaders not to the flesh to live according to the flesh for if you live according

to the flesh you will die but if by the spirit you put to death the deeds of the body you will live.

For all who are led by the spirit of God are children of God.

For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received a spirit of adoption.

When we cry, Abba, Father, it is that very spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are

children of God.
