This is wisdom part five and this episode is called How to Think About the News.

And the reason why I want to talk about how to think about the news is because there's

this question that I have heard so many times recently.

It came up again.

I was in Boston yesterday for the How to Be Here experience and a version of this question

came up again.

The question is something along the lines of how do you watch the news and not lose your

mind?

Sound familiar to you, buddy?

How do you see what's happening and not get depressed or overwhelmed?

Whether it's another young African American man unarmed being shot by a police officer or

it's the Zika virus arriving in some new area or whether it's Syria or whether it's the

terror of a Trump presidency.

It's really, really fascinating to me how many people have this question.

Almost like the question is like, please tell me that everybody isn't completely losing

their minds.

Do you know what I mean?

It's almost like a helpless, paralyzed, slightly depressed about the state of the world.

It's almost like there's a question behind the question, which is, are things getting worse?

Is the whole thing coming undone?

And then almost like the question behind the question being the question is, please tell
