Happy September, which basically means happy Halloween one. Like, it starts now.

Spooky season starts now. I don't care if it's still hot out. Happy Stephen King month.

I am so excited about this because there are so many great Stephen King adaptations.

And like, I'm doing an episode every Wednesday and Friday.

And that still doesn't even like touch the surface of all of the adaptations. So we're going to have

to do another one of these down the line at some point. But I think I got a pretty good lineup going

for you guys this month. Halloween Horror Nights was the best time of my life. I am going to go

every year for the rest of

my life because how have I been depriving myself of that joy and that just all-encompassing

spookiness? It's so much fucking fun. And the craziest part is tomorrow, I'm filming this on Tuesday,

tomorrow I am leaving to go to L.A. to go to their Halloween horror night. So they're flying

me out for that one too. I can't believe my life. I can't believe this is happening. Like for years, I've said my dream is to go to Halloween horror nights and now I'm going to both literally back to back. Like I don't even know if I can handle this. I'm too old for this shit, guys. My feet hurt, my legs hurt, everything hurts. I don't care. I'm so happy.

So we are starting off Stephen King Month strong with one of my favorite Stephen King adaptations

and just in general, one of my favorite horror movies of all time. Because today we're talking

about misery from 1990. And I have loved this movie so deeply ever since I was a kid. I think this movie has the example

of some of the greatest acting in a horror film ever and some of the greatest chemistry in

horror film ever between these two characters. And this is one of the very few movies that

we'll ever talk about on the podcast here where somebody won an Oscar for it, because that doesn't really happen for the horror cinema, as we all know. But yes,

Kathy Bates won an Oscar for her performance as Annie Wilkes in Misery, and she damn well

fucking deserved it. So the movie Misery came out in 1990. It was based on Stephen King's novel
