About 25 miles east of Seattle sits the rural town of Carnation, Washington, nestled in the

foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range.

Although it's still close enough to the big city for a work commute, the 2,000 residents

of Carnation prefer living among the thick forests and cow pastures.

Many houses sit on massive properties surrounded by the Mount Baker Snow-Qualmy National Forest.

The town center sits with a toll-ten Snow-Qualmy rivers converge, surrounded by a labyrinth

of backcountry roads.
