Hey y'all. Hi. Welcome to Coming Out with Lauren and Nicole. We are a weekly podcast where we have queer folks on from all walks of life. They tell us the tales of how they came out to friends, family, and the world at large. Because who doesn't love a coming out story?

Indeed. And we also talk about topical stuff. We're still not sure how to make that part of

our intro. But that's what we were doing now. Okay. That's why I didn't say anything the

last time I did the intro.

Yay! So today, I'm so excited to have Amanda Jette Knox with us.

Amanda is a speaker, author, and advocate.

I will say a little bit about how I was introduced to Amanda after I say,

Amanda, introduce herself.

Wonderful. Hi. Hello. I'm so happy to be here. Yeah. So I am Amanda. My pronouns are she and her. I live in Ottawa, Canada, which, you know, a lot of people assume is, you know, well, a lot of people assume

Toronto is the capital.

That is wrong.

It is Ottawa.

But otherwise, it's not a super exciting place.

I'm, I'm also a mom to four kids, married to an amazing woman.

And pretty boring otherwise, but I did, yeah, I'm pretty

dull. I really am. I can talk about my gardens. I'll hear none of that. Yeah, I, and yeah,

I am an author. I wrote a book called Love Lives Here, a story of thriving in a transgender

family, which I'll get into the details of that in a little bit. There's a whole lot of coming

out in our family. And I do. Sometimes with my family and sometimes on my own, we talk about the

story of, yeah, all of us coming out and

what that looks like and, you know, unconditional love and acceptance and embracing people's

identities, sexual orientations. And we're just kind of a, you know, in some ways a really
