Welcome back to my Book of Mormon podcast with me, Marie Kent. You'll notice that while I also have two first names, I am not in fact David Michael. As you heard in the previous show update, a few weeks ago, after two years of doing this podcast, David has retired. Bryce Blankanagle wanted to keep the show going, so David put out a call to all us mimos, asking if anyone

would be interested in taking over the show, and I volunteered. I emailed briefly with David and

Bryce. Bryce and I chatted on the phone for a bit, and now Bryce and I are going to give it a go.

In true My Book of Mormon podcast style, Bryce and I will keep reading through the doctrines

and covenants, and can you to discover that Bryce knows a lot

and I don't. We're aiming to keep releasing podcasts every two weeks. I'm recording this on Saturday,

June 4th. Bryce and I are planning to record next Tuesday, so the next episode you hear should be

released on Sunday, June 12th. Bryce has graciously agreed to do all the backend editing for the first couple episodes

while I get up to speed on this whole podcasting thing.

Then assuming it goes well, I'll take over.

Still, all you myomo's out there who are cursing yourselves for not volunteering to co-host,

beginning. I've never been a Mormon. I didn't grow up Mormon, didn't know anything about Mormonism until Mitt Romney almost got elected president, and even then I thought, I guess they're just another branch of Christianity. Then about two years ago, a friend said, hey, I just started listening to this great podcast. You have got to check it out. I did, and here I am two years later.

I started listening to Nick and Mormonism when it came out, and everything I know about Mormon

history comes from Bryce's podcast. And I do listen to Mormon stories occasionally, so I sort of

know a bit about the current state of the Mormon church, sort of. But like Dave and Michael,
