My name is Marsha Lucas, and I edited Star Wars.

I will tell you one thing about the editing was I had edited movies for my husband, George Lucas.

I had edited American graffiti. I'd been Lucas. I had edited American Graffiti.

I'd been an assistant on his first movie,

And then when we were in London,

filming Star Wars,

I was never designated to be a film editor of the movie.

But then he had an English editor that was working with him,

and he kept coming home and being very unhappy.

And eventually, George had kind of decided that he didn't want to bring the English editor

back to the United States, and he asked me if I would edit the movie.

And that's how I came to edit Star Wars.

But if there was anything that was dramatic or emotional, George gave it to Marcia.

And George always said, he said, always keep one person whose opinion you trust to the very end.

And that was always Marsha.

Marcia has always been the family of the Lucasfilm family.

40 years later, it's hard for me to believe that Star Wars is still alive, is still vibrant,

it's still everything that George wanted to be, and everything that I helped him and supported him to make it be.

I got stuck editing the end battle in Star Wars for many months.
