So let's dive right in.

This has been an exciting week.

The big news from this week is the Apple earnings call and we ran this story and our

headline is just an epic headline right Apple smashes expectations record

setting 78.4 billion dollars in revenue on sales of 78.3 million

iPhones. Yeah I mean this was a huge quarter for Apple. Consensus called for

revenue to be a little bit lower, 77.4 billion, so they beat it by a billion dollars.

And the iPhone sales were at a record, 78.3 million that bested the 74.8 million that they had achieved a year ago.

So they topped it by almost 4 million units from a year prior.

So the iPhone 7 is a pretty big success.

Now to put some of this in perspective because there have been an apple blowout

quarters before where they came in 20-30% higher than expectations or something,

a big part of that was Apple used to

give very conservative guidance. They have since stopped doing that and so as a result

the expectations on Wall Street have become more realistic. So the fact that they exceeded Wall Street bullish expectations by more than a billion dollars
