Thinking about Jesus today, so genius.

I think I'd never thought about this.

It might be obvious to everybody, but the idioms he chooses or the way he chooses to teach the stories he tells,

stand not only cross-culturally, but through millennia.

So he tells a story about two people, two guys who build a house,

and one builds his house on sand.

You know, he got beachfront property, felt real good about it.

The other guy builds his house on a rock.

And then that's fine until there's trouble that happens.

And then we find out that we should have built on a firm foundation because everything else can leave.

And I was just thinking about that story and how wonderful it is and how caring it is that God would tell us that story.

Because everybody in every culture can understand a foundation in building a house.

Everybody.

And it's not just every culture.

It's every culture for thousands of years.
