about this subject for several years now. And I have been busy with a lot of activism and networking

and community building with Mormon fundamentalists. And so I have a lot of stories to tell.

So I'm excited to bring those episodes over the next few months to you. I want to

thank everybody who's been so supportive of this project. The year of polygamy has certainly

changed my life. I know it's really informed the lives of a lot of people and it couldn't be

possible without a community effort. So I really appreciate all those who have been involved,

all those guests who have been on the show,

all of the people who have sent me good history, all the scholars that put this work together so we could

sort of synthesize it and bring it to you. And of course, to everyone that's interested in this,

it's fantastic. So many great things are happening in the fundamentalist communities and we're building

and partnering and networking

and really starting to reintegrate different groups and have them start having conversations

with each other, which is great. This episode is going to be talking about something that is a little

sensitive because in Mormonism, it's considered sacred, not secret. It's the idea of second anointing, but I want to

talk about it because all of these doctrines are present in Mormon groups in some form or another,

and it just sort of depends on the level of engagement with the certain doctrines. This particular

doctrine is an ordinance. It's the ordinance of the second

anointing and it's something that is rarely, if ever, talked about in mainstream LDS circles,

but it's more common in fundamentalist circles. So I want to talk about the history of the second
