Hi everyone. This is Gabby Mayer speaking. I'm a fourth-year medical student who will be graduating early to work as an intern in the hospital.

I'm not going to lie, this is a pretty hectic and scary time to be becoming a new doctor.

But I have a lot of faith in this medical community. I've spent the last four-ish years seeing firsthand, the dedication, the compassion, and the drive that you all have for your patients.

It's taught me a lot.

And so for me, it's an absolute honor to join your ranks.

Know that you are not alone.

And we are all in this fight together.

Dr. Mayor will soon be an intern in New York City.

She worked with other medical students to start an organization to gather personal protective

equipment for New York City hospitals, PPE2, NYC.

She and her colleagues have identified and donated almost 7,095 masks and over 13,500

surgical masks and counting to where it is needed most. Check out at PPE to NYC on Twitter and on the web.

This is John Cullen, board chair of the American Academy of Family Physicians,

and I just played the intro from Snow is Gone by Josh Ritter, which is a reminder that after winter comes to spring.

And we are going through a trying time right now, and as family physicians, we are right in the thick of it.

And it's bad now, and it's going to get worse, but this too shall pass.

And things will be completely different than before.

I think 60,000 family physicians learned how to do telemedicine last week,

and that is a remarkable achievement.

We will get through this pandemic.
