broadcasting live from a seaside cave discussing the 2007 supernatural horror film, The Orphanage.

This film was directed by Juan Antonio Bayona from a screenplay by Sergio G. Sanchez. Drawing inspiration

from classic horror films and literature, the orphanage tells an old-fashioned

ghost story anchored by fantastic performances, well-crafted scares, and an emotional gut punch of a finale.

The film made quite an impact when it debuted in Spain and would go on to achieve incredible

financial success and the acclaim of international critics. This film was the winner of our March Patreon poll,

what were your first impressions on the film?

I don't remember when I first seen this movie.

I told your sister, for some reason,

I remember this movie completely in English.

Really?

Yeah.

But watching it, I was like, well, I understand Spanish.

So I was like, maybe, you know what I mean?

In my head, it was like,

you know what they're saying. I was going to say, maybe your Spanish is just fucking great.
