0:04.1	a little bit more serious. We are going to speak about the issue of guns in America with an expert
0:09.7	who's had an inside look at it. Now, since the horrific elementary school mass shooting in
0:15.5	Yavaldi, there have been 33 more mass shootings in the United States. I mean, just think about that. That
0:22.8	that's wild, but it's also not wild. It's normal in this country. And it's not normal in any other
0:29.4	country. And you guys ask yourself, why is that the issue? Yes, it is a mental health problem. Yes,
0:34.4	it is a cultural problem. But it's also very much so a gun problem. This week we're focusing on
0:41.1	this gun problem with my guest, Ryan Bussey. He's the author of gunfight, my battle against the
0:45.8	industry that radicalized America. Ryan is a former firearms executive who helped build
0:51.6	Kimber America, which is one of the world's most iconic gun companies. And he had a front row seat
0:57.6	as the NRA went from being an organization of responsible gun owners to an organization more
1:03.5	defined by conspiracy theories and and arming civilians with military weapons. Ryan's a gun
1:09.9	owner currently and he's an outdoorsman and he advocates for other responsible gun owners to
1:15.8	speak out against the radicalization embraced by the gun industry and by the NRA. Here's our
1:21.7	conversation. I think it probably makes most sense to start off with your history with the
1:30.6	gun industry and also your history growing up with guns. Sure, I think that's, I mean, in a
1:37.2	fair amount of my book, I wanted to do a few things with my book, not the least of which was that
1:41.8	to explain to people who don't understand guns or appreciate them or understand those of us
1:48.0	who own guns and appreciate the culture of guns like sort of who we are. And so I grew up,
1:53.2	the first part of my book is about my childhood. I grew up on a rural farming ranch.
1:57.6	Guns were a very important part of my life. I hunted with my dad. We worked hard. We didn't have a
2:02.3	lot of time to do fun things. And when we did, oftentimes they involved guns. And so, you know, hunting
