Summary

Join David, Sissy, and Melissa as they focus on HOPE. This was set to be recorded last week and little did they know how their hope would be impacted by the tragedy that unfolded at the Covenant School. This recording was honestly the first chance they had to talk through the week…to process the loss and the grief and the moments of God’s goodness piercing through. Because, as the Uber driver they mentioned in the episode said, “We share the same hope.”  We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go. It’s an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God where Jesus, running on ahead of us, has taken up his permanent post… Hebrews 6:18-20, MSG . . . . . Well, it was like a lot to talk about. It does. It does. It's been quite a week in our city.

0:46.4

It has been quite a week in our city. We were messaging back and forth starting to talk about what

0:53.1

we wanted this episode to look like on Sunday, I think, of last week, having no idea what Monday

1:00.3

was going to happen in Nashville and at the Covenant School. And decided really we wanted to change

1:06.1

everything that we were saying, not that our hope has changed, but our perspective sure has.

1:11.1

It has. And even that we were scheduled to record an episode on hope in the middle of this week.

1:20.7

In the midst of this week, it feels like these are the kind of circumstances that allow us to

1:26.3

really test drive the hope that we do have to really see how deep and substantive and real it is.

1:33.5

For some reason, as we started talking about this, I remember I don't know where we were

1:37.1

speaking. You and Melissa and we were going to a restaurant and we ended up, I don't know if you

1:42.1

remember this, we ended up in an Uber and somehow started talking with the driver about

1:47.4

being believers. And do you remember this? And he said, we know the same hope.

1:52.7

And that feels true. Yeah. Exactly what you were saying. Yeah.

1:57.9

So for folks who might hear this episode down the road, we will simply share that
