Yeah, we had quite a lot of correspondence about people who do use the term.

I think it's an age thing. I think you've got to be a younger person to say footy.

Like a lot of older, old, very, not very old, but certainly people over the age of 50, I would say use soccer.

I think, and yet I would never say soccer for football.

No, I wouldn't.

But that was, my dad would say soccer.

Really?

Yeah.

But I think he's trying to make a point about rugby.

Also, it came up after a few of my gigs at the Soho Theatre when chatting amongst the devotees,

like a sort of latter-day Christ on the mount.

And he does think that.
