Before we get started here, I'd like to extend another invitation to you to visit Grease

My friend Jack of the Ancient Greasty Classified Podcast has another tour planned that's

just around the corner, October 11th through the 19th. I went on the previous tour back in January

of this year and honestly, hanging out with a bus full of fellow podcast listeners and ancient

history fans was one of the most joyful and invigorating experiences of my adult life.

The October tour starts and ends in Athens and includes a lot of the southeastern

Peloponnese. Highlights include the island of Agina, the city of Corinth, the towns of Metnaia

and Tigeia, Manimvasia, Sparta, Argos, the very ancient city of Tyrians and Namia in addition to,

as always Athens. The theme of this tour is enemies of Athens, and in it, from both Jack

himself and the tour's professional archaeological guide, you'll learn about many of the city

states that rivaled Athens before, during and after the Peloponnese war. As with all

of the ancient Greasty classified tours, the history taught is not only classical Greek history,

but also Byzantine, medieval, Ottoman and modern Greek history as well. The guide's

speak Greek and make all the arrangements so all you need to do is get a plane ticket to Athens

and take a metro ride from the airport to the first hotel. So please, if you have October

11th through the 19th free, come and hang out in Greece with us. These tours are adventures,

revelations, great big parties, and by the time they're over, families, and in the post-COVID

social malaise from which we're all gradually recovering, they're a fantastic way to make real new friends.
