I taught a couple other places briefly.

I had a fair amount of time energy spent in the academic world.

Back then, the idea of academic freedom was almost a religion.

It was essentially designed to protect the individual professor from being brow beaten or

coerced or in any way pressured to say or do something that didn't believe in.
