Welcome to the newest addition to the BTL family on a Friday morning. It is day five guide day.

You know, I was sitting around last year and I've gotten the opportunity,

especially over the past year, to really

chat and get to know some guys who have made their career in the guide business and most notably I'd say I talked with Rick Harris who was in in studio to end last year.

One of Toyota series works for Hill Country Hammers, went out and did his own thing down

at Amistad for a long time, and that's kind of really where I got the idea, but I've kind of

of been friends with Rick from a guy who wanted to get into fishing who then through

Kirk Dove and started guiding and then took the next step to go full-time guiding and then took the next step to become part of Hill Country and really and I said

man there's a lot of guys that I've gotten in the boat with and that I've talked to and that I've reached out through

BTL that have really cool stories about guiding.

Now, I think we can all agree, the best guide stories,

and we'll get into this in every episode

that's going to drop on Fridays at 8.30 AM is the nightmare guide stories you know with the client who comes out and you know has the

jar of mayonnaise and does the spread or throws the rod and reel or demands to get

taken back or something crazy.

So we'll always have the crazy guide stories.

But we talk about on BTL and have for the past,

this is the 20th season of BTL,

kind of the stories behind the stories, get know the person and that's kind of the goal with day five and then also haven't just got back from El Salto at Mexico it was extremely helpful for me to have someone who knew the guide who

knew the system to talk to the owner down there and then have the confidence

because let's face it in today's day and age you're spending a lot of your

hard-earned money to go out with someone and you kind of want to know what you're going to expect, what you can experience.
