Good morning and welcome to our second service on Sunday morning. We have two, the first of

which is the Bible prophecy update that we do weekly. And then now second service is the

sermon. We're going verse by verse through the Bible. We just last week started the book of James. And

today we are going to continue on. We left off in verse four of chapter one. We're going

to pick it up in verse five. And Lord willing make it through to verse eight, so I'll ask those

of you that are here if you're able to stand. You can follow along as I read. If not, where you're

seated is, just fine. Beginning in verse five, James, by the Holy Spirit writes, if any of you lacks wisdom, you should

ask God who gives generously to all without finding fault and it will be given to you. But verse 6, when you ask, you must believe

and not doubt. Because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea blown and tossed by the wind.

That person, verse 7, should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.

Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. You've got to love

James. By the time we're done with the book of James, you're going to love James, okay? So

why don't we pray and we'll just ask God to bless our time together in His Word, if you

would please join with me. Father

in heaven, thank you so much. Lord, thank you for James, for inspiring him by the Holy Spirit

to write this letter for us, all of these generations later, to be so blessed and exhorted and encouraged and directed

by it. Lord, we are keenly aware that unless you, by the Holy Spirit, get our attention,

that's not my job, and keep and hold our

attention, that we're going to miss what it is that you have for us.

Because our minds are going to wander and think about other things. the enemy is really good at doing that to us.

But we want to ask you if you would help us with that so we can focus, concentrate, listen,

hear and take heed. Lord, we want to give you our undivided attention because clearly what we just
