cycling legitimately got me into the NHL, and it actually kept me in the NHL.

And the reason for that is I came in in 1999, and after all this mountain biking with these guys ripping up the mountains in Alberta, I would come into camp and just destroy testing.

We did all of our testing on bikes.

So we do V-O-2 sprint testing, you know, all the major tests.

And so the scores were like off the charts for hockey.

Quick aside, I grew up playing hockey. I played hockey until I was 17 years old.

Anyway, my team growing up was the Boston Bruins.

He happens to ride a bike, or maybe coincidentally rides a bike.

Either way, I probably wouldn't have crossed paths with him if he didn't ride a bike because we've met up at a handful of cycling events. We met up this past weekend at the Jeremy Powers Jam Grand Fundo. Stoked, we were able to sit down and chat. He's got a fascinating story. You can tell in our conversation that he doesn't, he thinks about things differently.
