This podcast isn't only intended for those studying for the GRE or SAT, but also for people who enjoy learning, and especially those who want to improve their English skills.

In Episode 1, I cover the words Euphemism, Endemic, Dessicate, Idiosyncrasy. I run the podcast for fun and because I want to help people out there studying for tests or simply learning English.

0:07.0	Voker Podcast. I'm Sam. I'm going to be the host of this podcast and let's start with why it's called Victor Prep. Well first of all the
0:18.0	podcast needed a name and I decided to call it Victor Prep because Victor means a person who defeats an enemy or
0:26.5	opponent and I think a lot of the people who will listen to this podcast are taking some
0:32.3	exam like the SAT or the GRE, or maybe some other test or
0:38.4	some other exam that requires good English skills, good vocabulary, and they want to beat it.
0:44.7	So why not call it Victor Prep because together we are going to beat something
0:50.6	whatever ends up being. So who am I? Well, my name is Sam. I'm a software engineer. I work in video games in California. I'm originally British, as you may have guessed from the accents and
1:04.8	why am I doing this? So I took the G.O.E. myself some years ago now and I realized to get a super good score I was going to
1:17.5	need to improve my vocabulary. I read a lot of books. I had a pretty good vocabulary already, but I knew to get the highest
1:25.7	scores you really do need to know a lot of words. So I made a big list of all the gare words and I looked through many gare books I took
1:38.7	all those different word lists together and made one mega word list and I said about learning it and as part of that process
1:47.0	I made a lot of little recordings for myself and I found that listening to those
1:51.7	little recordings helped me a lot in letting the words.
1:55.0	And this may sound a little weird now, but I really really enjoyed making those recordings. I really liked it a lot. And so I always said to myself,
2:08.0	you know what, someday I'd like to start a podcast and use my experiences in learning those words and help other people. I really
2:18.0	really love some of the other learning websites out there like especially something
2:22.0	like Khan Academy. And I love teaching people and I thought, why not use my experience in prepping for the GRE, learning all these words, and use this experience to help all the people out there who I know
2:36.4	are struggling with this because it is difficult, it does take time and there aren't many
2:42.4	really really good resources out there I've found for doing this.
