If someone would have told them that you were going to be a missionary to one of the most remote tribes in the world,

So tell us what, Tell us the story. Well I was born to a couple who were a farm family couple and so not anybody that you would notice at all

kind of back on literally the last house on the end of a dirt road in

Northeastern Washington State.

And everything seemed to be going fine. I was one of five siblings, the third, and when I was five years old just barely five years old.

One morning I got up out of my bed upstairs and I could hear that everybody else was already down in the kitchen

I could hear mom washing the milk buckets and and the wood-burning cookstove was and knew that everybody would be there because

that's where the wood-burning cook stove was. We didn't have any other cook stove and because it was

warm down there and this was the 1st of January and cold and snowy and so I was cold, I was cold, no heat upstairs. So I walked to the top of the stairs and I thought what is wrong. I felt terrible pain in the back of my neck, the bottom of my head, and in my lower back, and my legs just didn't feel right.

And when I got to the top of the stairs to go down, deep steps, no handrails, narrow stairwell.

And I thought, I can't you know I can't get down there so I tried

hollering well there was a closed door at the bottom of the steps and

everybody was in the kitchen talking and doing stuff so they couldn't hear me

hollering. So I tried to just slowly lower myself down the steps, holding onto the wall, leaning

against the wall. And about five steps from the bottom, my legs gave up. They collapsed and I just rolled the rest of the way, hit the door and which rattled in that told everybody that there was something wrong and they
