I'm not sure if you knew this, but this past weekend, two racers qualified for the Paris Olympics to represent the United States.

Connor Mance and Clayton Young. They finished first and seconds.

Connor one.

Connor Mance won.

He ran the marathon in two hours, nine minutes, and five seconds.

And that's unbelievable.

And Connor Young finished in two minutes, two hours, nine minutes and six seconds.

So it was bang, bang. They were right next to each other

when they were finishing. Now, they interviewed the winner, Connor. They interviewed the winner and

this is then what he says. He says this. Clayton, the person who came in second, was one of my

mentors when I first got on the

BYU track and field team.

And so to be able to work together in this race meant a lot.

The last two miles, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to finish.

But Clayton just kept saying, hey, just run behind me. We got this. Just stay together. Close quote.

What a lot of people were surprised to learn is that the one and two finishers were actually friends in college at BYU and they trained together for this race.

And the man who came in second, Clayton who came in second, ended up encouraging Conner,

who finished first.

Connor was thinking, I can't finish this.

I can't finish this.

And Clayton, while they're running, says, hey, stay with me.
