| 0:00.0 | Good morning and welcome to the Increased Reimpact Podcast. I'm just in episode 1,898. |
| 0:08.0 | I want to read a quote. I just read from James Clear. He says this quote, |
| 0:14.0 | big wins tend to be accompanied by some combination of bigger decisions, more uncertainty and greater risk. |
| 0:22.0 | If you want to play at a higher level, you need to be comfortable with greater swings of highs and lows, |
| 0:28.0 | mentally, emotionally, financially. You can avoid the swings, but you might be forced to play at a lower level. |
| 0:38.0 | I love this and I believe it to be true. The higher the stakes, the better the competition, the more difficult it's going to be. |
| 0:51.0 | It's going to be faster. There's going to be more impact. There's going to be more at stake. |
| 0:57.0 | There are going to be more eyeballs and the failure is going and the margin of error is going to be razor thin. |
| 1:08.0 | And so what does that mean? It means it's not for the faint of heart. |
| 1:12.0 | If you find yourself swimming with big fish in a big pond and competing against the best in the world, |
| 1:19.0 | if you're trying to pursue that or trying to do that, you need to expect that the punches are going to hurt more. |
| 1:27.0 | The competition is going to be faster, smarter, better, and I completely agree with what James Clear is saying here. |
| 1:35.0 | You better get comfortable with higher highs and lower lows. |
| 1:39.0 | You better get comfortable with people criticizing you. You better get comfortable with this high standard of excellence. |
| 1:47.0 | You better be prepared for the angst and the feeling and the pressure that you might feel as you do your craft and strive to get better every single day. |
| 2:01.0 | And so if this is what you want to pursue, I want you to remember that it's supposed to be difficult. It is supposed to be hard. |
| 2:09.0 | And any endeavor that you're trying to pursue that is going to take you outside of your comfort zone, it is going to be riddled with uncertainty. |
| 2:19.0 | You're going to get punched in the face. But if you stick with it and you remember why you do what you do, and you can expect that it is going to be difficult. |
| 2:28.0 | You can expect that it's going to take a long time to progress. Then you're going to be able to survive. |
| 2:34.0 | You're going to not just survive, but you're going to be able to thrive. And you're going to be able to become a better version of yourself and stack wins along the way and develop skills that you couldn't even imagine yourself developing because of the environment that you're putting yourself in. |
| 2:52.0 | So here's to those of you who are in that environment, who are striving to prepare yourself to be in the environment and who are succeeding, who are failing. |
| 3:01.0 | If you're having a good time right now, prepare for some bad times. If you're having a bad time right now, keep working hard. And you're going to be experiencing some really good times. |
