1,798. Today's principle is to praise with precision. And when I'm talking about praising

with precision, not just other people, but yourself. Praising yourself with precision. And the precision that I want to really highlight is the

precision of your process. When you do well, it is not only important to catch yourself winning,

catch yourself doing well, because it's very easy to beat up on yourself. It's very easy to

neglect the good that you are doing

because you're so focused on your deficiencies. You're so focused on the things that you need to

improve. Pause and catch yourself winning. But also, when you succeed, don't just celebrate the

results. Praise with precision by taking a look at your process.

Look at the controllables. What were the things that were in your power that led to the results?

Because if you only praise yourself on the results, on the outcomes, then when you don't get the

outcomes, it's going to be very difficult to notice the good

that you're doing. Sometimes you're going to have bad luck. Sometimes things outside of your control

is going to not render the results that you would have had, had the ball bounced in your

favor. And so praise with precision focusing

on your process when you celebrate today when you do good today look at the things you're

able to control celebrate your process highlight the things you can control so that you can

replicate that effort, replicate that

process and catch yourself winning because it didn't happen by happenst.

Success didn't come by happenstance.

It became as a function of you focusing on the things that you can control.
