Good morning and welcome to the Increase Your Impact Podcast. I'm Justin Sua, episode 1,776.

Many, many years ago, I worked with a lot of gymnasts and a lot of cheerleaders.

And one of the things I learned about these gymnasts and cheerleaders is how amazingly athletic they are. One day I was working with

the young cheerleader and she started to freeze doing backhand springs. Now, for those of you who

have ever done a backhand spring, you know how difficult it is. And for those of you who have never

done a back hamstring, including myself, I couldn't imagine doing one.

Well, there came a point to where this girl, she's about 14 years old, she just could not

get herself to do a back handspring. She had this mental block and she was stuck.

And I began to work with her and we ended up discovering that when she

saw one of her teammates struggle to do it and get hurt doing it, she no longer wanted to do it.

But what was interesting is she wanted to do it, but she kept saying that her body wouldn't let her do it.

And so what we did is we decided to grab an empty vase. And I told her parents to go get a whole

bunch of marbles. And they went and got marbles. And I told her every time you practice a back hand

spring on the trampoline, on a mat with a spotter, every single time you try to practice it,

grab a marble, marble and put it inside the vase.

Don't worry about doing a back handspring.

Don't worry about executing it, no pressure.

But every time you practice it, put a marble in the vase.

And so weeks passed by, and I have not seen her, and one day I show up to the gym and she walks in, her mom brought in this big vase filled with marbles.

And she proudly puts it on the table and she was just amazed to show. She showed me in amazement how many marble she had in this jar.

And I said, do you know what this means? And she says,

it means I'm ready to do it backhand spring. And when you know it, she went out there and she was
