Today we are talking about the importance of environment. A lot of times when we're looking at performance,

we fail to consider whether it's good or bad that someone's performance is situational.

Success has just as much to do with your environment as it does with your capability,

with your ability to perform. So in other words, your performance depends on

not only your talent, but also the environment that you're currently at. And so if you're beating

up on yourself and you're performing really poorly, Yes, we need to improve.

Yes, we need to work hard to sharpen our tools

and our tool set and our skill level,

but also take into consideration your environment.

Is your environment conducive to your growth?

Is it helping you or is it hurting you? Now Now in addition to that, let's say you're doing

really well. Obviously you're working hard. Obviously you're doing everything you can to be successful.

We don't want to take that away from you. But also, what role is environment playing in your success?

What role are your coaches playing? What role is, are your teammates playing? What role is

the structure, the system with which you operate? What role does that play? We see so many times a

player perform really well on one team and that same player will go to another team, another

system and not perform very well.

And the opposite is true.

We'll see somebody who doesn't perform very well on one team, and then they go to another

team, and that organization unlocks them.
