It is the day after the first full day of the Washington Commander's 2026 offseason. And we on that first full day of the offseason, Monday, had a lot going on, including a session for quarterback Jaden Daniels with reporters on Monday morning and a joint season-ending press conference for general manager Adam Peters and head coach Dan Quinn on Monday evening. A lot was said about a lot.

Heck, we even got a joke from Adam Peters about tanking, about Operation Loseout 2.0.

Look, I still am not happy that our team won its season finale, the 2417 win at the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday to conclude going 5 and 12 in the NFL's 2025 regular season.

And result in the commanders in the 2026 NFL draft getting the number seven

overall pick as opposed to the number five overall pick. But we're on Monday evening had this

exchange between commanders insider Ben Standing of last man standing on substack and Adam Peters.

Obviously, the front office is about looking ahead, the coach is about looking in the moment.

When you guys are in the position where you're eliminated from the playoffs or the season is going a certain way, do you weigh in and say, hey, maybe we need to get some younger guys into see what we have next year or even have a discussion about, hey, if we win a game in the last week, it could affect draft status and the importance perhaps of that.

Even if you say we're not going to worry about that, do you weigh in on those matters?

I told him the tank and he just said no.

No, you know, that game was important.

A game was important for us to win, so I'm really glad we won for a lot of different reasons.

But in terms of just weighing in on personnel things, I think, you know, it goes back to what

Q was saying. We talk all the time. We talk every single day, all day about, you know, how can

we do better, you know, and I'll make suggestions and I'll say, oh, that's a good idea, or no,

this is why we won't do that. But i think that's a constant dialogue between us and

there's no you know it's it's we have a great respect for each other so if i ask a question he knows

where it's coming from and it's not coming from a bad place it's either coming from trying to get

information or just understanding so um but yeah we're always talking about that, you know, every single week,

you know, regardless of our record, you know, always trying to, sometimes I have ideas that I think

are good and they're not. And so, and it'll tell me why. And then sometimes they are, they are good.

So I think that's a healthy relationship that we'll always have. And I hope that, you know,
