Summary

0:48.0	Today episode 90 the Battle of the Cedars. In the months following the failure of General Montgomery and General Arnold to take Quebec,
0:58.0	the Northern Army and Canada got little attention.
1:01.0	The focus really remained on Boston. After the British
1:05.6	evacuation of Boston in March, members of Congress and military leadership continued
1:11.3	to bicker resulting in weeks of indecision about how to
1:14.9	send a new leader to Canada. Washington finally got Congress's approval to
1:20.2	send a new leader to the Northern Army, and that leader was General John Thomas from Massachusetts.
1:27.5	Now in his early 50s, Thomas had
1:35.0	had military experience going back to both King George's war,
1:36.0	he had played a leading role in the British capture of Montreal
1:41.0	from the French in 1760. He was an early patriot and part of the militia
