Then jumping forward to the Hinckley, Minnesota wildfires of 1894, and the Big Burn conflagrations in northern Idaho and western Montana in 1910, a pattern of similar reports emerge – leading to speculation about the source of the mysterious concentrations of atmospheric gasses.
