Hey, Bruce.

Glad you're here. You wrote Today's Devo on adoption, which is fitting because you've got a lot of kids.

I do have a lot of kids, and some of them are adopted.

All right. How many kids?

Yeah, so we've nine kids, ages 8 to 29, and five of those who are adopted, our oldest two, came to us and joined the family kind of in various ways.

And then we've got a sibling group of three that are kind of sandwiched in between some of our biological kids.

Awesome, which is really fitting because today we're in Galatians 4 talking all about adoption.

And I know that the word, when Paul uses the word

adoption, he means something a little bit different than what we think about today maybe.

Do you help us understand that? Yeah, I think when we think of adoption today, we think about

vulnerable children, we think about orphans, we think about kids that need rescue and that kind of vulnerability.

And so we start to think about things like restoration and rescue.

And yet the context of Galatians being in the province of Galatia, which is like modern-day, kind of central Turkey, there's this, there's this like

monument there to Augustus, who was like one of the original emperors of Rome, who was adopted.
