0:19.9	I'm Alice Fisher-Roberts, and I am going to do a post today on our early polygamous, the early polygamous wives of Joseph Smith.

0:46.4	talk about today Sylvia Porter Sessions Lion Clark. And I'm particularly happy to be here
0:52.8	to be doing this post on this amazing woman because she's also my great, great, great grandmother.
0:59.1	So getting started, Sylvia Sessions was born in July of 1818, July 31st in New Green.
1:08.7	She was born to Bartlett Sessions and David Sessions.
1:12.4	In 1830, her family joined the church.
1:16.0	They sold their farm.
1:18.0	And then sometime between 1834 and 1837, they traveled to Missouri Palmer Lyon, who was an army
1:25.9	physician.
1:27.8	They were married in March of 1838.
1:31.1	Sylvia's mother, Patty, wrote about the wedding in her journal.
1:34.1	Sylvia was married to Windsor P. Lion, Joseph Smith, performed the ceremony.
1:37.9	The next day, the prophet was there, and a good time it was.
1:41.7	Sylvia and Windsor left Missouri for Navu in February of 1839.
1:46.0	Once they arrived in Navu, they opened the Lion Drug and Variety Shop, which if you go to
1:53.0	Navu today, the LDS Church has rebuilt the foundations and it's open for tours.
2:00.0	There's some debate over the update that Sylvia was sealed to Joseph Smith. foundations and it's open for tours.
