Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of the feminist Mormon

Housewives podcast.

I'm your host, Lindsay, and I'm a little

winded because I ran upstairs to get my diet coat as priorities. So today, we're going to

continue our series, our ongoing series of the Year of Polygamy. We're right now at the beginning

stages of this series, we are profiling the wives of Joseph Smith as kind of a primer to get people familiar with the origins of Mormon polygamy and how it started.

I would eventually like to do an episode that goes back in the past to set the stage of why polygamy, polygamous influences on the church,

including contemporary influences that were happening in other reformations and religious movements at the time.

We are not the only ones, of course.

But today we're going to talk about one of my favorite women. She was the plural

wife of Joseph Smith. We don't have the exact number, but she would have been around four for the

purposes of our series. We're counting her as episode number four. I've really started to
