Always weird, you know, the whole, like, you know, three-day weekend holiday thing, a little bit different for me this time, because working for yourself, there's no, like, corporate calendar that's just, like, you're your days off, fucker. And I'm like, okay, so just, like, oh, right, yeah, so, yeah, so, uh, ran a stream yesterday, if you didn't catch that, played a much old games, talked a little bit about the steam deck, all that sort of stuff. That's up

I don't know, I don't know if anyone asks, I don't know these people, I don't know what crimes they're committing over here, this kingdom under fire, I don't know, I don't want to know, okay?

And what else? Yeah, this podcast, the Jeff Gersman show, it's a podcast about video games, we do it weekly every Tuesday here, we're settling in on 10 a.m. Pacific daylight time for the start time for this, that's been a pretty good, relaxing, got a morning start here, get my morning energy drinking, I'm still drinking my way through this case of Zoa, I bought it still sucks.

3:02.7

It still tastes bad. The fruit punch flavor, I am finding to be some people said that orange is good, and I don't know that I'm ever going to try any other flavor of this stuff, unless I can find it one can at a time, people have been saying that it's available at dollar stores, which that's a good sign for the rocks, new-ish energy drink of like, oh yeah, this is our premium energy beverage with natural blah blah blah, it's at the dollar store.

3:31.4

Okay, is it better or worse than nothing, I mean, if it was worse than nothing, I would throw it out, I guess, but alas, I bought a damn case of it, and it was expensive getting a case of it, so it was more expensive than a case of rock stars, which that's my, that's become my my go to, my go to beverage, my go to energy beverage has been rock star for a while now.

4:01.4

And yeah, I don't know, I'm drinking my way through these anyway, yes, so, you know, look us up on podcast apps and subscribe to it there, go check out, we got a YouTube channel now, we got all this stuff, we got this Patreon, we got this Twitch channel, you got your Amazon prime subs, ring the sound the alarm, no, that's not the, that's not the alarm button, hang on, nope, now also, nope, there, that's.

4:31.8

That's a, that's a, that is a alarm, ask, and, and come on through and hang out, we're having a great time over here, streaming a few days a week, all that sort of stuff, sign on up, I, let's get into it, let's get right into it, can you follow on own cast at the Fediverse, yeah, I am, I am technically on the Fediverse somewhere, I am on mastodon somewhere, I don't know, mastodon kind of went.

4:58.7

At some point, it's all about co-host now anyway, let's get into it, the steam deck, I have had a steam deck for almost a week now, and I guess so yeah, I, I really like it, I really like the steam deck, I think the steam deck is.

5:29.2

A pretty incredible device, I think it is, I feel good about the, I bought the 512, get it by the expensive one, and I feel pretty good about the price on it, for, for what you get, and the power of said device, I mean, this is stuff, it's, it's, you know, this has been, obviously, people have been covering the steam deck in in various ways for a while now.

5:54.9

You know, my number didn't come up until the end of Q2, the last possible week of, of Q2, they were like, all right, okay, you can get a steam deck, I was like, oh, thank God, I have been dying to get my hands on one of these for months, because I wanted to do weird stuff with it, I couldn't get any questions answered about like, what's it like, what can you, you know, what's the sort of stuff you can really do with a steam deck.

6:23.9

And now I've been putting it through those paces as well, I think it's a very capable machine, I'll say up front, I think my, my major downside with it, and this is something that I need to spend more time testing, because I haven't been out and about, is the battery life.

6:40.4

There's the top end of that battery comes off it real quick, it's the sort of thing where it's like you unplug it and walk into another room and sit down and load something up, and it's already 94%, you're like, wait, whoa, whoa, whoa, but I have not put the battery through its full paces, my, my initial reaction is that the, you know, it's, it's a computer, and it has battery life like a laptop, kind of, you know, so, so that that's maybe.

7:10.4

The only knock on it, but I haven't really had, I haven't really had too much time to, to really use it without it being plugged in, it's mostly been me bringing it to other locations and plugging it in and using it and all that sort of stuff, so, so yeah, that's kind of the, that's one of the things I would say that I am a little bit iffy on, but, yeah, you know, the number of games that, and again, the specs are out there, right, so you can kind of eyeball the specs and you can eyeball like the resolution.

7:40.4

Of the screen and what it's going to run games at and all of that sort of stuff, and, and realize like, oh, yeah, it's going to really chew through a lot of these games, it's really going to run this sort of stuff quite well, these sorts of games will run well, this sort of stuff might not run well, you know, but like, for me, it was DNF dual, we talked a little bit about this last week, but there was just something about the crispness and the speed of a really great looking fighting game.

8:10.4

Where, you know, any kind of frame drops on that is really going to seem like a hellish situation, so, but there was something about seeing that game in particular, running on the screen, running really well, all of that stuff that really kind of made it all click for me, it was that and a game that is not going to be a big technical powerhouse, the Ninja Turtles game shredders revenge.

8:39.8

Those were the first couple of things that I saw running on it natively through steam that that I was like, wow, huh.

8:47.4

I get really it really does with the thing it says it's going to do and I don't feel like that there's a big compromise here that has been my biggest problem with the switch.

8:59.0

Over the years as a third party device, I mean, obviously, Nintendo optimizes for the switch so well that you don't see it as often, I guess, you know, Pokemon, notwithstanding, they certainly have some first party games that.
