What up, what up, what up and welcome to another episode of the Fortnite podcast is your host here most de-face for you guys another weekly installment of your favorite Fortnite podcast this week as you see in the header we have a lot to talk about there are going to be some overlaying topics from last weekends practice makes perfect podcast especially as we start to really hone in on the epic layoffs and what does it mean for fortnight in particular and then we lead into some new folks that have actually left epic games as of this week so a lot of changes

the podcast back here I think he missed the last four day podcast I'm not sure what he was up to if I remember correctly panda were you were you on the other side of North Carolina okay so just real quick this would happen I bought a TV right and had to go take care of the bill for the TV I went over to go take care of the bill I have an electric vehicle and I didn't manage the miles correctly and I was I was going to be short miles coming back so I had to stop for

somewhere in charge and the first three chargers I hit were not working oh my god it was it was a whole mess but otherwise I would have been I still should have been back with plenty of time to be in the episode but no it the the chargers kind of a

yeah so quick I'm glad to be back I got a quick question this could be a hot take gas vehicle or electric vehicle now that you've had one I've never owned an electric vehicle electric vehicle all the way dude I can literally bring it home plug it into my garage the next day I have a full charge it cost me three to five dollars to charge it every single time like okay okay I'm just curious cheaper like just yeah just curious you know I would hate to be seen

somewhere yeah I was gonna say that was that was my negligence that caused that okay I didn't go like a gas station and go get some gas and then go anywhere yeah but like think about this right like Emily drives a gas vehicle still and she pays like four hundred bucks a month and gas because she drives a lot right I pay for a total month in an electric fifty bucks dang all right well

hey guys if you've you've been considering it just be warned you could be stuck somewhere with no gas there's no electric I'm just more surprised that you can't supplement the two but anyways now they're here to our dear welcome back then are great to have you this week to talk about everything that's happening here

yeah no no doubt welcome back panda sorry to start this off like this hopefully this is not a thing to come for the rest of this podcast

we're all contentious but I think we'll be good now we're good the only people attacked on this podcast are the

epic folks who have been laid off unfortunately and we get to yeah we get to jump in a little bit

about that panda take me through it like I said we briefly touched on the fact that nine hundred

employees were let go I believe that was close to it wasn't 30% right it was like 15 16% yeah it's still

substantial amount and it also gives you the scope right of how many employees are in the epic ecosystem just

internationally yeah so to give some context right to the audience at home that may not know or may not know

all the details 16% of the company was laid off close to 900 employees if you do the math

on average salaries that epic are on the higher side so I would say on average a hundred thousand dollars per

person with benefits and everything galore right so 900 employees a hundred thousand per employee that's

90 million dollars right 90 million dollars and overhead per year in salaries and benefits alone

now mind you think about this that's only 16% of the workforce so 90 million dollars

to just for 16% is insane overhead for a company so I'm not surprised to see the layoffs it sucks to

see some of the people that did get laid off a lot of really good people got laid off but I imagine
